Are You Spiritually Mature?

What is the Reason we are always willing to blame the other for the things that are “wrong” in the world? I am struck by the fact that the same Republicans who denounce “big Government” are the ones that took a big surplus in 2001 and turned into the biggest deficit! I am not saying that they should or should not have, I am only saying that the people who proposed the solution 10 years ago are now blaming others because the solution didn’t work. What makes us do this privately and publicly?

I believe that this comes from a lack of Spiritual Maturity. Spiritual Maturity means that I have to look inward, take responsibility and embrace my imperfections rather than feel defective if I make a mistake or miscalculation. Spiritual Maturity is knowing that the “one right way” ISN’T!! To be Spiritually Mature requires me to know that any solution that comes just from me and “my people” can’t be right and whole because it is coming from too narrow a view. Rather than ” need to be right” I ask you to engage in seeking the whole picture so we can all find solutions to the ills of the world AND care for the poor, the old, the widow, the stranger, the orphan, the powerless and voiceless among us.
